Atlanta, Ga. - April 19, 2005
CNW Group is now Digitally
Delivering Broadcast Material via
Pathfire's Digital Media Gateway
Atlanta, GA, April 19, 2005 - Pathfire, Inc.,
the leading provider of digital content distribution
for the broadcast, media and entertainment industries,
announced today an agreement with Toronto-based
CNW Group, a leading producer and distributor
of broadcast footage and b-roll packages across
Canada and the United States, for the digital
distribution of their content to Pathfire's
network of broadcast stations.
Pathfire's Digital Media Gateway
(DMG), an automated IP multicast distribution
platform, distributes and manages content to
over 1,300 broadcast stations in the US and
Canada. Content automatically arrives on newsroom
desktops, eliminating the need to schedule and
monitor satellite feeds and roll content to
tape. "By using Pathfire's DMG, CNW enables
news editors and producers with direct access
to Canadian-produced content via the existing
Pathfire delivery system," said Pat Poersch,
Pathfire's Director of short-form content distribution.
"With the addition of CNW, Pathfire continues
to provide newsrooms with additional content
for quick integration into their local newscasts.
Pathfire's DMG enables news editors and producers
to easily search, preview and select content,
directly from their desktops" said Poersch.
"Pathfire's DMG provides
us with a reliable distribution platform, making
our content easily available for integration
into newscasts at stations throughout Canada",
said Carolyn McGill, Senior Vice President,
Marketing and Product Management, CNW Group.
"By delivering via Pathfire's DMG, we're
providing newsroom personnel with convenient
access to our time-critical news."
Pathfire will be demonstrating
its DMG applications at NAB and RTNDA 2005.
Visit Pathfire at NAB, Booth # SL 1353 and RTNDA,
