announced today an agreement with Chicago-based
AKA MEDIA INC. (www.akamediainc.com). AKA MEDIA
INC. provides broadcast production and distribution
services to top public relations firms and Fortune
500 companies. Under the terms of the agreement,
Pathfire will deliver AKA MEDIA INC.'s broadcast
news content, including Public Service Announcements,
Video News Releases, and B-Roll Packages to
Pathfire's network of television stations.
Pathfire's Digital Media Gateway
(DMG), an automated IP multicast distribution
platform, distributes and manages content to
over 1,100 broadcast stations in the US and
Canada. "Digital distribution of content
and metadata provides greater efficiency within
newsroom workflows, eliminating the need to
monitor satellite feed schedules and roll content
to tape. By using Pathfire's DMG, AKA MEDIA
INC. is making it simpler and easier for news
producers and directors to use the content they
