Pathfire Announces VNR Master Locator

--Enhancement Benefits Broadcasters – Offers Single, Safe Destination for VNR Access--

Pathfire, the leading supplier of digital content distribution and management solutions, today announced the VNR Master Locator, one of many new features in its soon-to-be-released 3.0 Version of its Digital Media Gateway™ (DMG) application. Expected to be widely available during the second quarter of 2004 in over 1000 Pathfire-equipped broadcast locations, the VNR Master Locator will offer news producers a single, safe source for accessing VNR (video news release) and related material from various suppliers, eliminating the confusion and risk that accompanies sourcing VNR material co-mingled or categorized with news service feeds.

Building on Pathfire's existing VNR distribution application, the VNR Master Locator, for the first time, provides a convenient central resource for valuable VNR material used by many newsrooms. “Pathfire has, for some time, directly offered an alternative VNR distribution service to organizations that produce and/or distribute VNR’s. VNR’s have always appeared in a discrete section of our DMG application, independent of any news feed, and have avoided the concern about co-mingling VNR’s with news service feeds that has received recent publicity,” said Pat Poersch, sales executive at Pathfire. “With the addition of the VNR Master Locator, news professionals have even more convenient access to clearly identified VNR content.”
Also included in DMG 3.0 are a number of other new features and performance enhancements designed to make news production even more efficient, such as AutoLists, which automatically prepares news items for newscast integration.
