David Unsworth, Vice President of Operations, has overall responsibility for the operational support and customer service for the Pathfire DMG network which includes ingest and distribution systems at content providers facilities, all Pathfire DMG servers at television stations throughout the U.S. and the network infrastructure, satellite and power systems at Pathfire’s HQ in Roswell, GA. Since joining Pathfire in 2001, David has also held the positions of Principal Engineer and Director, Network Services. Born and educated in the UK where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Telecommunications, David brings over 25 years experience in communications, satellite and broadcast engineering. He started his career with British Telecom before joining Independent Television News as a Senior Engineer during which time he played a lead role in some notable firsts in the fields of Satellite News Gathering and airborne newsgathering in Europe. After relocating to the US, he was instrumental in the startup and management of a successful international satellite newsgathering operations division for a broadcast services company in Pittsburgh, PA. Before joining Pathfire, David held lead engineering roles at Scientific Atlanta and then VertexRSI deploying large scale international networks.
